The Grand Pharmacy in Eastbourne, East Sussex, has been sold to a first-time buyer for an undisclosed price.
The site is a standard-hours, community pharmacy that dispenses an average of 5,615 items per month and offers additional services, such as travel vaccinations and the Pharmacy First scheme.
It has been owned by husband-and-wife duo Afshin and Elham Eslamdoust for more than 20 years and was brought to market as part of their retirement plans. Dipen Patel purchased the property.
Patel said: "I'm looking forward to growing the pharmacy by offering services such as ear-wax removal and expanding our range of products."
Mark Page, director – pharmacy at Christie & Co, which facilitated the deal, added: “A few years ago, the sellers started to specialise in travel vaccinations and other services, recognising that the pharmacy needed to lessen its reliance on NHS income. This has worked well and this business on the south coast now attracts customers from miles around.”
