City Road Pharmacy in Bradford, West Yorkshire, has been sold to Siddique Pharmacy for an undisclosed price.
The standard-hours community pharmacy dispenses an average of 8,784 items per month and provides a range of NHS and private services including Pharmacy First, vaccinations, emergency contraception and a free delivery service. It has been owned and operated by Rekha Taheem for more than 20 years and was brought to market to enable her retirement. Taheem will remain in the business part-time for around a year to support the transition.
Siddique Pharmacy is a family-owned business operating two branches in Bradford and two in Halifax. The acquisition brings its Bradford presence to three sites, all within two miles of each other.
Rekha Taheem said: "After over 20 years as a pharmacy contractor serving the local community in Bradford, it was a difficult decision to retire. It is great to see the business moving into the hands of a local family who are experienced operators."
The sale was facilitated by Christie & Co.
