High-dispensing Derbyshire pharmacy sold

Arun Gande of Arks Dispensary has purchased Wilsons Pharmacy in Oakwood, Derbyshire, a standard-hours community pharmacy that dispenses an average of 11,600 items monthly and offers a 24/7 automated prescription collection point.

The pharmacy operates from a ground-floor leasehold unit in a residential housing estate.

Wilsons Pharmacy formed part of a group of six independently owned pharmacies operated by B J Wilson across Derbyshire. The group was brought to market as part of the owners’ retirement plans, with individual branches available to purchase separately.

Business property advisor Christie & Co facilitated the sale

Carl Steer, director, pharmacy at Christie & Co, said: “Wilsons has long carried a superb reputation in the communities it operates from and so it was no surprise that we received a lot of interest from prospective buyers. Oakwood received multiple offers and further shows the strength of the pharmacy sales market.”

Wilsons Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
