Boots appoints new chief executive

Boots has appointed Alex Baldock as its new chief executive, according to several reports.

Baldock, is currently chief executive for tech retailer Curry’s, and will take over from Anthony Hemmerdinger, managing director of Boots UK and Ireland.

Hemmerdinger will continue in his role until Baldock joins the business in the autumn.

A statement from the Boots Group board of directors said Baldock was an “experienced, transformational leader” with a “track record of success”.
