Spa Pharmacy in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, has been sold to Medicine Clinic Pharmacies for an undisclosed price following its entry into administration in June 2026.
The 150-year-old community pharmacy occupies a neo-Georgian terrace property on Rotunda Terrace. Insolvency specialists at bk plus were appointed shortly after the business fell into financial difficulty, with Christie & Co undertaking an expedited sales process that attracted 18 offers within a week.
The buyer has taken over day-to-day running of the pharmacy via a management agreement, ensuring continuity of service for local patients ahead of full completion upon NHS change of ownership approval.
Mitesh Patel, director at Medicine Clinic Pharmacies, said: "We are delighted to have exchanged on the takeover of Spa Pharmacy and, most importantly, to have been able to get the pharmacy back open and serving its local community so quickly. Our immediate priority is to provide stability and continuity for patients, staff and the wider community."
The sale was facilitated by Christie & Co and bk plus.
